Why Ordering Direct Helps Restaurants During Covid-19 lockdowns.
Just when we think we are officially out of the woods we somehow find ourselves back here again. The COVID-19 saga continues here at TORONTO PHO.
Yesterday the province of Ontario announced that they are imposing new restrictions and guidelines to help slow the spread of COVID-19. What does this mean for you and what does it mean for us? For us, it means that two of our TORONTO PHO locations (our Jane Street & Dufferin Street) will be closed for dining in. For you, it means that ordering can only be done now online, over the phone, or in-person for takeout. (At least for the next 28 days…we hope).
Even though we are extremely bummed out that we are closing our dinning room yet again, we do place a lot of importance on the health and safety of both our customers and staff. We really want to thank you for your patience during these uncertain times and cannot wait to see all of your faces again. It is truly your support throughout this COVID-19 journey that has been the driving force behind what has kept us going.
During the next 28 days, we want to emphasize the importance of supporting local by ordering directly.
Every day we see so many businesses in Toronto not surviving this pandemic era because they lack resources and sales.
How can you support Toronto restaurants during COVID-19?
Try to always order direct and support local! Third-party apps are great and convenient but what a lot of our customers do not know is that they charge us hefty fees. These fees are typically between 25% and 30% of the total order price. The truth is unless third-party deliveries service fees drop to a more affordable 5% - 10% it will be exceedingly difficult for many restaurants to survive without raising their prices.
Ordering direct doesn’t just benefit us but it can also save you from paying all those extra charges that typically get added to the tab when ordering through third-party delivery apps.
Sounds like a win-win doesn’t it?
When all of this is over and done we really do hope to see you all again. But until then continue to order direct please and support our local economy and businesses.
We are in this together!
