Pho is a lot of things. It’s a warm meal on a brisk fall day In Toronto. It’s a filling, low-calorie dinner for the Torontonian who’s focused on weight control and fitness. It’s a reminder of their home and culture for a lot of Vietnamese-Canadians with connections still to Vietnam. But a hangover cure – that might be a new one for some.
Hangovers happen, of course, when you’ve consumed too much alcohol. You overload your system with various ingredients that your body’s not used to beyond just the alcohol. Things like dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and inflammation also all have an impact on how a person feels the next day after they’ve had a chance to come down from the highs of partying.
Just imagine, you’ve spent all last night circulating the city’s hot spots living your best life and having fun with friends, partaking in drinks, lots and lots of drinks. Pretty much engaging with all sorts of boisterous activities. Now, it’s the next day. Nothing feels quite right. You’ve got a headache. You’re nauseous. You may be sweating uncomfortable, be overly irritable compared to normal, have some muscle aches and fatigue, and more. Every time you open your eyes, you discover a sensitivity to light and sound. That’s incredibly common. So you try water and pop a Tylenol but it doesn’t seem to work. Nothing’s changing. This is where pho, hangover cure, can come to the rescue. After all, not all superheros wear capes!

Pho and ramen are both well-known worldwide, pho being from Vietnam and ramen from Japan.
In the past decade, pho and ramen have seen quite a surge of interest in Toronto and North America in general. Our restaurant, Toronto Pho, for example, is built around the interest and popularity of pho. There are also ramen-based restaurants in cities across Canada focused exclusively on doing ramen right.
If you haven’t tried pho or ramen yourself, we’re sure you know of someone who has. Putting similarities aside, it’s the differences we want to focus on to ultimately declare a winner in the debate between pho and ramen. Which is better… well, that’s for you to decide.
Bringing the rich history of Vietnamese cooking here to the streets of the GTA, Toronto Pho has successfully been turning out high-quality meals for many, many years. Our chefs have learned how to adapt menu items to suit Canadian tastes, expanding our diverse menu. Though we specialize in pho, we have gone well beyond pho with a unique collection of stir fry dishes, beverages, and more.
