What is Pad Thai?

Pad Thai is a stir-fried rice noodle dish with eggs, bean sprouts, ground peanuts, and shrimp (or chicken). It's usually served with lime wedges and chilli sauce on the side.

In addition, Pad Thai has five distinct tastes: salty, sweet, bitter, sour, and spicy.

What Country Is Pad Thai from?

Pad Thai is a Thai dish, but it's become popular all over the world with many fusion adaptations.

Who Invented Pad Thai?

Stir-fried noodles have been a part of Thai cuisine for millennia, with roots dating back to the Ayutthaya Kingdom. After that, local specialties were added to modify the flavour of stir-fried noodles to suit Thai food.

However, it was not until World War II that a rice shortage prompted the creation of Pad Thai as a popular Thai meal. The Thai government urged people to substitute pasta for rice in order to minimize the strain on supplies. It wasn't long before Pad Thai was created in its most basic form, and there are still some vendors in Thailand who continue to sell the traditional version of Pad Thai.

What's the connection between Toronto Pho and Pad Thai?

So, how did a Pho restaurant with the word "Pho" in their name end up known for their pad Thai? The answer is straightforward: it's Pad Thai like you've never tasted before, and it's genuinely wonderful.

Despite the fact that we are recognized for our piping hot bowls of pho and clever branding, we are also well-known for our Pad Thai.

We constantly get comments like "best we've ever had" after posting a photo of our Pad Thai and we can't help but agree.

What makes Toronto Pho's Pad Thai so special?

It's all in the sauce. Traditional Pad Thai is not as saucy. Our Pad Thai sauce has a strong lemongrass flavour and it coats the rice noodles perfectly.

We also use big pieces of deep-fried tofu which adds an amazing crunchy texture to this dish. The tofu also soaks up all of that delicious sauce! Pro- Tip always ask for extra tofu. You can truly never have enough of it with our version of Pad Thai.

Our version of Pad Thai takes you on a culinary journey to flavour town. Did you know we roast all of our own peanuts? We serve them with every order chunky, fresh, and full of flavour. We take pleasure in knowing that all of our sauces and toppings are prepared and prepped in-house.

We've tried our sauce on chicken wings and they were a success! Pad Thai Chicken Wings, you'd better remember where you heard it first because it's going to take over the Toronto food scene.

Where can I get Toronto Pho's Pad Thai?

Because our Pad Thai is so delicious, we wanted to give our customers an amazing deal on it. For a limited time, you can buy 1 get 1 free on all orders of Pad Thai on UberEats. So, why not try it out for yourself? You won't be disappointed!

Every year, thousands of youth experience homelessness and sex trafficking in Canada.

Covenant House provides a safe space for youth who are homeless, trafficked or at risk.

Over the last decade, we've seen a change in the GTA. We are now seeing more young people stay at shelters like Covenant House for longer periods of time than previously. This is due to the fact that these teens now face more complicated issues, such as abuse, neglect and family breakdown, more youth struggle with mental health, finding affordable housing and getting stable, meaningful jobs.

Homelessness or trafficking can happen to anyone. However, young people who face added barriers because of disability, sexuality or racial identity are often over-represented. And 59 percent of youth at Covenant House are from average and upper-income households. For them, the street appeared a safer option than staying at home.

These youth are some of the most vulnerable and some of the most resilient.

With the right opportunities, they can build a better future.

Toronto Pho has chosen to do our FREE PHO give-away in a more meaningful manner this year and will donate hot meals on Christmas Eve to the Covenant House.

For every $5 you contribute, we will add another $10 to make it a complete meal.  Last year we gave away almost 1000 bowls of Pho this year we aim to do the same!

Help us pay it to forward this holiday season.

- The Toronto Pho Family

Pssst... It's true Toronto Pho is opening its fourth location in Woodbridge! You asked and we listened. Customers would mention on numerous occasions that they would appreciate a Toronto Pho closer to them. We really wanted to offer our distinct flavour and aesthetic to the uptown crowd, but the pandemic had other plans for us. At first, everything was going wrong, we switched to our new eco-friendly packaging and then our packaging got delayed. For almost a month we had to resort to using plain brown packaging even though we had spent months designing our new packaging and thousands of dollars manufacturing it. We had to close our doors several times and switch over to take out only and would consistently get hit with hefty fees from the usage of third-party delivery apps. We even had a break-in at our Jane location. We had so much on our plate this year that we had to put the fourth location dream aside until we eventually stumbled on the right location. Toronto Pho in Woodbridge is finally happening in 2022. We can't even begin to explain how excited we are about this! This was a long time in the making folks!

Where Can I Get Pho Near Me in Toronto? – Read Here

“Where can I get pho in Toronto?” …this is a common question we hear from a lot of new Torontonians. No, we aren’t talking about the sort of over-the-counter grocery store pho you accidentally stumble upon when picking up things on your weekly shopping list. Of course, authentic pho is prepared fresh and it pretty much comes right off the stove. For something like that, you need a restaurant.

What Is Pho?

For those that aren’t aware of what pho is, pho is a Vietnamese dish. It is sort of like a specialized soup. Having originated in Vietnam, it was brought to Canada alongside families entering the country since the 1970s. For the past few decades, more and more Toronto pho restaurants gradually have continued popping up. In a period where ethnic food is having a boom, Vietnamese restaurants are using pho as a way to differentiate and attract customers.

Why Does Toronto Love Pho So Much?

From ordering late night pho in Toronto after you’ve come home from the bar to having it as a post-workout meal, there’s no bad time to have a bowl of pho. It keeps you warm in winter. It’s lightweight, not too carb-heavy, comes with a sufficient amount of protein, and has lots of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients from the herbs, spices, and vegetables included in the dish. Monthly searches for ‘pho near me open now’ and other phrases are among some of the most popular among restaurant-related browsing.

Is There A Pho Restaurant Near Me?

Chances are you won’t need to go far for authentic pho in Toronto. One of the best pho restaurants in Toronto is simply titled Toronto Pho. The menu here is built around not only pho varieties, including vegetarian and vegan dishes, but a wide range of other foods, including salads, rolls, fried rice, fried noodles, stir fry dishes, vermicelli, platters, smoothies, fruit teas, fresh juice, coffee, and dessert.

Also, if you order through their app and pay cash-only, it’s 10% off. Dine-in or take-out, it’s incredibly easy to order and arrange. There is no easier place to order pho in Toronto. They’re open late nights as well so it’s a great way to cap off an evening out. Have it delivered to your front door.

What Makes the Pho At Toronto Pho So Good?

A good pho takes care and attention to craft. A pho broth takes hours to prepare. It’s a simmer of bones and herbs and spices, bringing authentic Vietnamese flavors mixed with a little of Canadian and Toronto influence, of course. From there, of course, you want your pho to be adequately portioned and have the meat, carbs, noodles, and veggies you expect. With generous portions and the tastes just where they need to be, that’s where you want a bowl of pho to be.

It is also very easy to substitute ingredients in pho. For example, vegan and vegetarian pho is simpler to prepare than making adjustments to other dishes that are blended and cooked together. With pho, everything is cooked separately and then, blended together. So when you decide to order pho, alterations are always possible ensuring it falls in line with your dietary restrictions, habits, or preferences. Anyone can order pho from Toronto Pho and we work to exceed expectations with every bowl we assemble.
